Feedray · AI detector
An AI detector for Threads posts
Some of what you scroll past was written by a model. Feedray can put a small robot icon with a score from 1 to 100 next to a post, and a short note on why. It is a hint to help you decide where to look closer, not a verdict.

Why it matters
Templated posts are easy to recognise once you have seen enough of them, but nobody wants to study every author. A quick score next to the action bar tells you which accounts deserve a second look and which ones you can take at face value.
How it works
- Open the Feedray settings (the "Feedray" row in the Threads sidebar) and turn on "AI analytics". It is off by default.
- A robot icon with a number from 1 to 100 appears next to the post's action bar. Hover over it for a short explanation.
- The same request returns five tags that describe what the account is about. You can switch the tags off separately.
The score looks at the author's recent public posts. The markers are generic templated phrasing, stock phrases, no concrete personal detail, and the same rhythm in every post. Clean grammar alone is not a sign of AI, and false positives happen. Treat the number as an estimate.
What data goes where
By default the analysis runs on the Feedray server (feedray.dev). It receives the public post text and username of the checked author and your interface language. For fair-use limits it also receives your own username and a random install ID. Post text is not stored. The result (score and tags) is cached on the server for up to 6 hours, and a usage log with username, install ID, time, result and cost, but no post text, is kept for 90 days. There is a daily fair-use limit on the free server analysis.
If you add your own OpenRouter key, requests go straight from your browser to OpenRouter with the model you pick, and nothing goes to the Feedray server. Only the prompt template is fetched once.
Questions
Does a high score mean the post was written by AI?
No. It means the post and the author's recent posts share some markers of templated writing. People write like that too, so use it as a prompt to look closer.
Is it on by default?
No. Nothing is analysed until you turn on "AI analytics" yourself.
Can I keep it off the Feedray server?
Yes. Add your own OpenRouter key in the settings and the requests go from the browser to OpenRouter directly.
